Kia ora koutou, Talofa lava, Malo e lelei, Kia orana, Bula vinaka and Welcome
My name is Steven Caldwell. I am the Principal of Paraparaumu School. Paraparaumu School is a medium sized school with a student roll of 340. We cater for students from year 1 through to year 8.
In 2014 we suffered a serious fire where we lost 4 classrooms and our library. While devastating at the time we were able to build 6 new modern classrooms to replace them. The classrooms were opened in term 1 2017 and the staff and students were very excited to move in.
2017 also saw the opening of the Kapiti Coasts very first Maori Bi lingual class, Te Whanau Kotuku. It caters for students from years 0-2. In 2018 we expanded to open a second class with year 3-7 students. In 2022 we will expand further to cater for year 8 students. We are very pleased to be able to offer this form of education in our school. If you would like to know more about Te Whanau Kotuku and whether it would be right for your child please do not hesitate to contact me.
I believe we should be teaching our students how to learn and be the best they can be. Creating a safe and friendly school atmosphere allows students to flourish and learn to the best of their ability. Involving family/whanau in the education of their child is important and helps ensure the best possible outcomes for each student
Our staff are professional, high performing, reflective and future focused.
When you arrive at Paraparaumu School you will find a friendly, family orientated atmosphere where everyone plays their PART. The students are actively engaged in their learning and encouraged to take risks. We have robust and well developed behaviour development policies and procedures ensuring that Paraparaumu School is a safe and happy environment for the students to learn. Warm positive relationships are evident throughout the school.
If you are looking for a high performing school that offers a quality educational experience for students, then Paraparaumu School may be right for you. Come in for a visit and a personal tour by me, we would love to see you!
