Paraparaumu School
PRINCIPAL’S Corner
Dear families and friends of our school
Teacher Only Day Friday 2nd June.
On Friday 2nd June school will be closed for another teacher only day. At present, the New Zealand Curriculum is being refreshed and updated, the first time since 2007. The Ministry of Education has allocated teacher only days for teachers to continue looking at how this will impact education and what we do here for teaching and learning. Can you please make alternative arrangements for your child on this day. Your co-operation is most appreciated.
Pink Shirt day Friday 19 th May.
A reminder that this Friday is Pink Shirt day. This is related to anti bullying. I would encourage children to wear pink if they can. The staff have organised a sunshine disco as well. It promises to be a fun day supporting what is a very important issue.
Student Led conferences: 21st June 1pm—7.45pm (school closes at 1230); 22nd June 3.15 pm—6.45pm
How to book your student led conference:
All bookings will be done via ETAP app which you should have on your phone.
If you DO NOT have access to the internet or have any problems with the process you can book a conference time by contacting the school office (298 7900) and Jo will book a time for you.

Lachie Bean Room 6 Year 6
Lachie, you make me laugh almost every day. Your sharp wit and sense of mischief keeps us all on our toes, as does your ability to weave Uranus into every conversation.
Your love of all things maths and numbers is truly awesome. I love how you challenge yourself and work with others to come up with solutions to even the most thorny of problems. You were part of the winning Epro8 team last year, which demonstrates how well you work, think and communicate as part of a team. You have an amazing group of friends who have your back and I love how you are totally unafraid to be yourself. You are a well deserved student of the week. Well done Mr Bean

Pink Shirt Day – Friday 19th May
The Student Council would once again like to encourage everyone to help us turn the school into a sea of pink in support of Pink Shirt Day and their anti-bullying campaign. If the weather is good, we’ll have a sunshine disco. There will also be a competition for the best decorated classroom.
By taking part you will be helping to stamp out bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusion.
